Sending group messages or as some might call it - mass texting - has its proper place and time.

As an example, many churches, faith-based and community organizations frequently need to reach their supporters and members with reminders. Trying to get fifty people to show up for a food drive, community work project or blood drive can mean contacting a lot of people in a very short time frame, especially if more help is needed right NOW. Text messaging can be a low cost, meaningful reminder for those that are supporters of your cause. In instances like these, a little virtual handling holding can be a good thing.
