Ask the customer if they’re satisfied before you ask them to post a review.

It's a pretty common thing to receive a request from a business to "leave us a review", right? Two points came to mind when I received the “leave us a review” text shown above.

First, they don't know because they didn't ask, whether I was satisfied with their work or unhappy... and just maybe they treated my wife badly when she dropped off the car, but they were nice to me when I picked it up.

Or maybe the work was shoddy and it needs to be redone. Or they did a great job and I've already told a couple of my friends.

And second, if I am unhappy wouldn't they want to turn me into a happy customer before asking me to post a review? Something to think about as you evaluate your own use of automated text messaging.
